Tips And Tricks for Shooting Your Video

Here are some tips to get you going with shooting and editing your video.

I.  Get someone else with technical knowledge to help you out.

Shooting video is a fairly easy task once you have the proper equipment and understand the basics.  Don't be aftraid to ask people with equipment and knowledge to help you out, be it your own tech savy children or relatives  or a v-logging teen living next door.

II. Be creative!

Remember that you have 30 seconds to pitch your abilities to prospective employers.   Try to create interesting and compelling video that show you off in a way that elevates you above the competition.   At the same time remember to stick to what the employers would like to know about you before they consider hiring you.

III. Get someone else to recomment you.

Submit a second video of your previous co-workers'/employers' recommendations.  If you have time left in your video pitch, you can include these in one video. But remember to keep it under 30 seconds.

IV.  Show off your degrees and greatest achevements.

It will give you immediate credibility and separate your from the crowd.  But be honest!  No need to make things up.

 Preferred video resolution:

We will accept, but will not recommend submissions with resolution lower than 320x240 pixels. Remember that any resolution lower than 720x480 (or 640x480), will have to be scaled up to broadcast resolution of 720x480 with potential loss of clarity and quality.   While resolutions from 320x240 and up may do fine, any resolutions that are lower may lack detail.

 Recommended resolution:

320x240 pixels - will be scaled up to 720x480
720x480 pixels - is the optimal size video that we recommend for submission
HD video - THE UNEMPLOYMENT CHANNEL is playing back in standard resolution.  Any submitted HD content will be downconverted to standard definition.

List of the recommended video formats:

MPG2, MPG, MOV, AVI, WMV, MP4
